Today we went to Milla Chocolates. We have been there, but it was before this blog was started. So, a while. Milla is known for its geometrical designs in the chocolate, most noticeably hexagons. There was a wall-mounted sculpture of a chocolate bar, but instead of squares, it had hexagons. Later, we would learn that it served as a speaker.
On the wall there were some shelves, and on these shelves were a collection of chocolate-covered nuts, hot chocolate mixes, orange chips, and so on. There was also a display case full of truffles and three different bars. They also had intricate geometric patterns. All of the truffles were perfect cubes, with little gold shapes on top.
We were then introduced to the owner of Milla, Christine. As it happens, this was not my first meeting with her. one of my friends is her neighbor, and so, I had seen her before. We tried some chocolate-covered orange chips, which were amazing. They tasted strongly of orange, which I then realized was because of the Valencia orange in the chocolate. I picked out two truffles and two bars, and then went home to taste them.
The first one of the truffles was the passion fruit. This was a very flavorful and zingy chocolate, and (not counting the passion fruit filling) it tasted like passion fruit and something a little more floral that I couldn't quite put my finger on.
The second one was a yuzu chocolate, which I find to be a very powerful flavor in desserts. This one packed even more of a punch than the passion fruit. Yuzu is generally a very hard flavor to properly define, but this chocolate did it wonderfully. But since I've never personally tasted real yuzu, I may be totally wrong. Perhaps Yuzu is very easy to recreate. I really have no clue. And that was that.
Here I am in front of the store. We forgot to get a shot of me in front before we went in, so that's why I already have a bag.
This was the speaker I described earlier.
This hexagonal design is featured on all of their bars and a few of their truffles.
I am now here with Christine in front of the wall of packaged items. In addition to chocolate and other chocolate-related items, they also have several perfumes that can be seen in the top-left corner.
