The great chocolate tour continued: andSons again

Today, I went to andSons, a favorite. I had a reason, though, and that was that about two months ago, my brother graduated, and he got a collection of 12 chocolates from andSons that looked very interesting. By that, I mean interesting colors and flavors; Matcha and Cherry Blossoms, Strawberry and Aged Balsamic (a tried-and-true combo) and Meyer Lemon and White Miso, to name a few. Now, I love strange flavor combinations (for instance, Soy Sauce Toffee and Black Peppercorns with Almonds and Cocoa Nibs, in a tasting at the Chocolate Dispensary), so naturally, I was intrigued. So 68 days later (yes, I checked), I found myself in Beverly Hills, a place I hadn't been to in a while (that is, for chocolate).

Now, I love andSons as a chocolatier, and so I try to keep the selections of all of my favorite chocolatiers memorized. Or at least, the ones I like. But the selection was almost entirely new. The bonbons had all shifted out, save for a few, and the truffles were mostly new, with a few old faces. So I thought, and thought, and thought some more, and then what must've fet like three years later, I chose my twelve chocolates. Yes, twelve, because there were six in the Summer Collection (the twelve my brother received had two of each), and I wanted to try some other new ones. For example: Double Yuzu, S'mores, etc. They were all supreme, and I noted how each of them had its onw unique "flavor curve". That's how I describe the way the flavors seem to fade in and out, so you get one flavor at one moment and then another the next, and then the first flavor comes back. That's exactly how it was with the Matcha and Cherry Blossoms. The matcha hit first, followed by the cherry blossom, and then they alternated out maybe five times. It ended with matcha, which I think was the better of the two flavors. Overall, a very informative and successful visit to one of my favorite chocolatiers thus far.

This is me with the lady behind the

counter, whose name I forgot due to my extremely selective memory that refuses to recall anything of importance. Either way, the chocolates in the display case are clearly seen, and I think they all look really nice. If you're reading this right now, Unnamed Lady, please accept my deepest apologies for forgetting your name. I apologize, and it would be excellent if you could put your name in the comments so that I can go back later and insert your name instead of this terribly long ramble.
