Today we went to Farmshop. We had no idea this place existed until my friend Jessica recommended it. Farmshop is not technically a chocolatier, instead they are a marketplace and restaurant. They still, however, have a huge selection of bars from many different chocolatiers. I recognized a couple, like Dandelion and Letterpress. There was a guy handing out samples. The samples appeared to be helping immunity, stress, and the like. I ended up selecting a Honeycomb bar from Ritual Chocolate and the Maya Mountain Belize bar from Dandelion. The samples had a large profile. for most of them I tasted fudge, citrus, and something floral, like violets, and one of them was completely different, with a profile of cinnamon, raspberry, and something like wood. We bought the bars, and the next chocolate outing ended.
I am currently holding the two bars we
bought. Maya Mountain Belize is a longstanding favorite, noted for its rich fudgy, cinnamony taste. The flavor profile reminds me of a hot chocolate.
Behind us is the aforementioned wide assortment of bars. notice the fact that there are no truffles or bonbons, just bars.
What a developed taster you are! Those are some interesting flavor notes. Nice to see you are continuing your education in chocolate.
