This is me & Zayda outside of the annual Chocolate Salon. Compared to the last one in Pasadena, it was much bigger, but inside a much smaller building. As such, it was much more crowded.
This is me & Tina Codinha, co-founder of Codinha Chocolates. Codinha Chocolate combines French techniques with Filipino style. We're inside, and as you can see, it's packed. Later, I would be listening to her fascinating presentation on becoming a successful chocolatier.
This is me outside the County Fair Building, recording all of the chocolate, toffees, and caramels the convention had to offer. Again, note that even outside, there are still plenty of people.
This is me with someone from Siamaya Chocolates. They come from Thailand, created by Kristian Levinson and Neil Ransom. From there, we got a milk chocolate durian fruit bar, which was kinda weird, but then again, weird is wonderful.
This is me from after the aforementioned presentation by Tina Codinha. This person I'm standing next to is named Stacey, and is one of Tina's "mentees". The seminar was how her first shop failed, and then she met her future husband, and he tells her that the reason she failed was that she had a terrible financial position. And so then they save and save and save until they can open a new business.
